BASIS membership made compulsory for software firms

The government has made it mandatory for the country’s software firms to obtain membership of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS).
BASIS received a circular to this effect on Wednesday, issued by the Department of Trade Organisation under Ministry of Commerce.
The circular was issued under ordinance of trade organisation 1963- Article 13 upon BASIS appeal.
As per the circular, every software company must have BASIS membership for carrying out business in the country.
