53 journalists face harassment in Jan-May

At least 53 journalists fell victim to harassment across the country in the first five months of the current calendar year, according to a report by an independent legal aid and rights body.

Of them, six received death threats over phone, said the Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) report.

It also disclosed that 13 journalists were attacked and harassed by political parties.

Nine cases were filed against the published news, the ASK data added.
